Imran Akhoond is a prolific and versatile guitarist. He has been recording professionally for over 16 years. Over the years he has displayed his unique chops as a session musician and recorded with most of the renowned Pakistani mainstream artists. In 1998 he joined the team of South Asian Pop singer Shehzad Roy. Imran has performed all over the world in concert venues in England, USA, Norway, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Italy,Denmark, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Behrain, India, and Bangladesh to name a few.He has also contributed to many soundtracks including his guitar work on Strings album Koi aane wala hai, Shafqat amanat ali album Tabeer, Faakhir album Jee chaahay, Ali zafer, Alam gir, Atif aslam, Ali azmat, Rahim shah, Ahmed jehanzeb etc, Imran akhoond has performed with international renowed musicians like Matt Sorum, Slash of Gun & Roses band . Imran Akhoond is currently plays in Coke Studio Pakistan (Season 7) and (Season 8) Produced by Strings

 

 

The Coke Studio house band is renowned for introducing promising new talent and Imran Akhoond is no exception! Imran Akhoond is a self-taught musician who honed his talent by watching the DVDs and music videos of western artists. He is particularly inspired by the guitar work of Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Eric Johnson and Larry Carlton. He continues to perfect his skill for the love of learning and playing music and firmly believes in reforming music through the fusion of eastern and western music style. He is also open to exploring and researching innovation in his musical abilities. Akhoond is particularly fond of performing in front of live audiences and musical alterations while playing live are a special thrill for this talented guitarist.

Through the years his vigor and enthusiasm for the musical voyage took him to perform in diverse locations, including Hollywood in 2013. Imran Akhoond has the special privilege of being part of a live jamming session with Slash and Matt Sorum, the guitarist and drummer of renowned heavy metal band Guns ‘N’ Roses.
